Robin's Creative Cottage Challenge: Let it Sparkle

Hello everyone and welcome to the first ChallengeTuesday over at Robin's Creative Cottage! This week our theme is 'Let it Sparkle'- use glitter, jewels, or any bling! I had a fun time with this theme, because I love the sparkly! I created a card for this challenge:
All the paper is from KaiserCraft. I cut the trees out of a patterned paper from the collection as they had some sparkle already in them- hopefully the photo does it justice. I cut a frame at 1 1/4" from Elegant Edges for my stamp- from Robin's Gingerbread Holiday set. I added some stickles for a little sparkle on the stars in the stamp image. I then added some tinsel string from Prairie Bird boutique (this stuff is awesome for holiday projects, I wish I had discovered it before I did all my Christmas cards!) and some glitter brads for a little more sparkle! Here is a close up of the Stamp sentiment- one of my favorites from Robin's collection:

I hope you enjoyed my project, and can't wait to see how you all Let it Sparkle! If you would like some of these amazing and fun stamp sets for yourself,  please visit here.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:
The Kraft Journal: Christmas Card
Pile it on: Sugar and Spice

Vintage Holiday Thank you card

I am a fan of ALL things vintage. I actually won some beautiful vintage style holiday paper by KaiserCraft from Frosted Designs a while back, and have been chomping at the bit to put it to use! I already completed all of my Christmas cards for this year, so I decided to make a Christmas 'thank you' card. This can be used to thank someone for a Christmas gift, or as a general 'thank you' card that you are giving to someone during the holiday season. Here is my card:
The sentiment is cut from the Thanksgiving Seasonal cart. I created the poinsetta using Mother's Day Bouquet. I found the shape that looked most like a poinsetta to me, then using a red patterned paper from the KaiserCraft December 25th collection I cut out two at 2 1/2 in., two at 2 1/4 in., and two at 2 in. I used a petal roller to give some dimension, layered the cuts together, offsetting each one a bit and secured with a small brad.  I then added some gold stickles to the center.  I also cut two leaves at 2 in. Here is a close-up of my flower:
This was my first time using crinkle ribbon. I have seen it used in many other's projects, but had never used it myself, and I think I'm addicted! I loved the look I was able to acheive with this ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique.
It really adds some pretty dimension! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my project! I am entering it in the following challenges:
My Craft Spot- handmade flowers
Fantabulout Cricut Challenge Blog-project with 'thank you' or 'thanks'
Getting Cricky- giving thanks
Pile it On- anything with 'P' (poinsetta!) :)

Thankful Card

If you are looking for the Robin's Creative Cottage Stamp Release Celebration Blog Hop post click HERE.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I recently purchased the Elegant Edges Cart and I just know it is going to be my new go-to cart, LOL! I used it for the background on this card, and I used the Thanksgiving seasonal cart for that pretty turkey with flourish and the "thankful" sentiment.  On the cart it is actually 'Thankful heart' but it didn't all quite fit on my card, LOL. All the paper is from the SEI Moonrise collection- I love this line for Thanksgiving- very elegant colors and patterns. Here is the card:
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog- Red, Orange and Brown
The Paper Variety-Use the word 'thanks' or 'thankful'
Whimsical Designs-Thanksgiving Theme

I hope you enjoyed my project. And don't forget, you still have until Monday at midnight to be eligible to win a set of the brand new stamps from Robin's Creative Cottage. I will be announcing the winner on Tuesday 11/22. These are AWESOME stamps, Go HERE to find out what you need to do to win!!

Easel Card

Hello! I am so excited to finally be able to start participating in challenges again after my move and car accident injury! I have really missed doing all the fun challenges out there!! One thing I missed is those challenges that get you to learn and try new techniques. That was the case with the challenge over at My Craft Spot this week- Easel Card.  I have never made an easel card, but have been very interested in learning new card techniques.  They had a link to a great instructional video on their challenge post and it was very fun and easy! I am also entering the card in the challenge at Frosted Designs this week which was to use die cuts!
Here is my card:
And here is the side view:
All the paper is from SEI's Glitzmas collection (really love this paper collection- I've used it for 4 projects this week alone, lol). I just recently got the Elegant Edges cartridge, so I was very excited to break that one out! I used it for the border. I cut the tree with Winter Woodland, and added some Glossy enamel for the snow. The stamp sentiment is, of course, from Robin's Creative Cottage.  Here is a close up of my winter tree:
I hope you enjoyed my project and thanks for stopping by!!

For my project I decided to do a layout. I enjoy making cards and other types of crafts, but layouts have always been my favorite. I kept it simple so the title from Robin's Snowman's Prayer set would really stand out:

I love the quality of these stamps. My layout was inspired by a sketch from Creative Scrappers.  All the paper is from S.E.I. The flourishes were cut from Cindy Loo at 4" and 3". The bottom title frame was cut from Paper Lace. I cut the snowflakes from patterned paper and popped them up on glue dots and added some glitter brads. This photo was actually one of my engagement pictures, but I have always loved it and thought it fit so well in the 'snow' theme. :) I hope you enjoy my project today!

Today I have one of Robin's new 'Snowman's Prayer' stamp sets to GIVE AWAY to one of my lucky followers! Robin's Creative Cottage Stamp Release Day 2

Hi everybody and welcome back!! I hope you are enjoying all the great projects featuring the new stamp sets from Robin's Creative Cottage. Today I am featuring the Gingerbread Holiday set. These stamps have lots of cute phrases that would be perfect for holiday gift giving. I chose to make a little gift bag that you could fill with treats to give to a friend or neighbor:

The bag is cut from Plantin Schoolbook. I just pressed the 'fit to page' button and it cut it at 7 1/2". The tag is also cut from Plantin Schoolbook at 3". I then cut a wreath from Joys of the Season.  I used the 'flip' key so that I could use both sides of my patterned paper without having to flip it on my mat. The wreath was cut at 4".  I added some bling to the tag and tied it to my gift bag with some ribbon.  Here is a close-up of the stamp on the tag:
I added some glossy accents to make the sentiment really stand out.

I hope you have enjoyed my project, and make sure to check out all the projects from our talented design team on Robin's blog. And be sure to come back on Friday for our Stamp Release Celcbration Blog Hop for a chance to win one of these fun stamp sets!

Cooking With Cricut challenge #60 Let's Talk Turkey

Hi guys! It's time for another challenge over at Cooking with Cricut!  It is SO great to be back in my craft room- I had to skip last week's challenge due to my injury, and I was very bummed, so I am so happy to be back!
This week our challenge was to incorporate our favorite November bird into our project. Here is mine:

I love Thanksgiving, so I took this pic of my hubby with our Thanksgiving turkey to creat this layout. I wanted to make it a little more elegant :) so I used these pretty papers from S.E.I.'s Moonrise collection. (S.E.I. always has a great booth at my local Scrapbook Expo and I stocked up on their holiday lines this year, so you will probably be seeing alot of them to come, lol). The title paper was from Bella Blvd.'s Finally Fall collection, and is cut from Sophisticated, as is the shape from the background paper. This is a really fun cart! Mr. Turkey is cut from Stretch your Imagination. I popped up his wing and added some Stickles to sparkle him up a bit!
I added some buttons and brads from my collection and voila! I hope you like it, I had a great time making it and have a few more projects coming this week.  Also, don't forget to join us for the 25 Days of Christmas Crafting Fun starting December 1st. LOADS of great projects, ideas and inspiration and GIVEAWAYS! (we all love those, right??) Thanks for looking, and can't wait to see what you all cook up this week!!

Robin's Creative Cottage Stamp Release Party!

Oh my gosh, what a week! Thanks y'all for your patience while I recuperated! Well, I promised some fun things coming up this week, so without further adieu... :)
This week we are celebrating the release of the new stamps from Robin's Creative Cottage. Let me tell you, these stamps are AWESOME. Very high quality, clean stamp image, and SO cute!! I am so excited to finally be able to show you the stamps, and the projects I've created with them! Also, don't forget to join us on Friday for the Stamp Release Celebration Blog Hop! Lots of great inspiration, AND every design team member has a full set of stamps to GIVE AWAY! You don't want to miss it!
For today I am working with the Snowman's Prayer stamp set.  I made this fun snowflake card.

The card size is 4x6 and all the paper was from S.E.I.'s Silver Valley collection. The snowflake 'brads' are actually eyelets from Eyelet Outlet.  The title was stamped with Color Box ink and popped up on glue dots to stand out a bit more.  Here is a close up of the CUTE stamp!

The snowflakes were cut from Joys of the Season at 2 1/2". I inked the edges for definition with Tim Holtz ink, and then stamped the mini snowflake stamp from the collection. Here is some detail:
I really hope you liked my card, and want to head over to Robin's Creative Cottage to see all the amazing projects from our super talented design team. And make sure to come back on Thursday when I will be showcasing the Gingerbread Holiday set, and don't forget the Blog Hop on Friday, with a chance to win a set of these great stamps!!

A little 'break'

Hello Everyone! Sorry it's been a little bit of time since I posted...I moved recently and so all my craft supplies are boxed up. The plan was to get that room unpacked first! (priorities, right? ;) but then I was in a fairly bad car accident and broke my leg! :( What is it they say about best laid plans?? Anyway, this unexpected road block definitely set me back a bit, but please stay tuned because I WILL figure out a way to craft through this and have some fun things coming up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!!!
